Kate Smith is head of division for health sciences at Abertay University in Dundee, Scotland. She splits her time between research, practitioner education, psychotherapeutic practice supervision, and university management. She is the chair of the Pluralistic Practice steering committee, leads the team running the annual International Conference on Pluralistic Counselling and Psychotherapy, and has published and presented on a range of topics pertaining to the pluralistic framework. She is a trustee and governor of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, the largest professional body for therapists in the UK.
