Donations

I would like to donate to Psyche. Are there any benefits?

Our Aeon Media donations programme offers two options – one-time donations or recurring donations. Rather than offering dedicated benefits to donors, we decided it was kinder to offer full functionality to all readers of Aeon or Psyche who have a user account. These include the ability to comment on articles and save articles for later. Log in to your account here. If you are unable to use these functions when signed in, please contact us via the interactive guide above so we can complete the process.

What does it mean to be a Patron?

Patrons are individuals who generously support Aeon Media Group with donations above $500 (US).

We also welcome employer-matched donations and grants through donor-advised funds and have many donors who choose to give this way.

Are donations tax deductible?

Gifts made by US and Australian taxpayers are tax deductible. US taxpayers may claim a tax deduction by giving to Aeon America Inc (EIN 81-3741044), a non-profit organisation exempt from federal income tax in the US under Internal Revenue Service Code Section 501(c)(3), which is eligible to receive tax-deductible donations.

Australian taxpayers may claim a tax deduction by giving to the Aeon Media Group Ltd (ABN 80 612 076 614) – Gift Fund which is listed on the Australian Government’s Register of Cultural Organisations, and endorsed as a deductible gift recipient, under Subdivision 30-BA of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997.

Make a donation now

I intended to make a one-time donation but have been charged twice. Why?

We have two donation pathways available. You can make a one-time donation or become a recurring supporter by providing either monthly or annual ongoing support. If you would like to cancel an ongoing donation please see question 3 (below).

How do I change/cancel my recurring donation?

If you’re a recurring supporter, click on the avatar in the right-hand corner of the screen. Go to ‘Profile’. Click on the ‘Donations’ tab on your profile page. You can manage your recurring donation here. If you would like to change or cancel your ongoing donation via PayPal, simply log in to your PayPal account.

How do I update my credit card?

Click on the avatar in the right-hand corner. Go to ‘Profile’. Select ‘Donations’. Select ‘Update credit card’.In order to update your credit card for a recurring donation, simply sign in here: https://aeon.co/sign-in

Once this is updated, your recurring support should continue as usual.

How do I update my email for recurring donation receipts?

Click on the avatar in the right-hand corner. Go to ‘Profile’. Select ‘Donations’. Select ‘Update email’. In order to update your email for recurring donation receipts, simply sign in here: https://aeon.co/sign-in.

Once this is updated, your next recurring donation receipt should be sent to the new email.

Newsletters

How do I subscribe to your newsletter?

The newsletter sign-up is located in the top-right of every page on Psyche. Alternatively, sign up via the newsletter popup, or mid-article insert on Psyche Ideas.

I’ve subscribed to your newsletter but it is not appearing in my inbox.

Check that you have confirmed your email address via the confirmation email sent upon signup.

It may be that the emails are ending up in your promotions or spam folders. We’d suggest adding newsletter@psyche.co to your contacts.

If the newsletter is still not coming through, please contact us via the interactive guide above. In the email, please provide your full name, the email address you subscribed with, where on the website you signed up (eg mid-article insert, popup) and be sure to mention that you’re having difficulty with the Psyche newsletter. It’s also helpful if you tell us what browser, device and email provider you use. This will help us solve the issue quickly for you.

How do I unsubscribe from your newsletter?

To unsubscribe, simply click on the ‘unsubscribe’ link at the footer of the newsletter.

I would like to change the email address I use to log into Aeon and Psyche.

Log in using your existing email address. Click on the avatar with your initials in the right-hand corner. Go to ‘Profile’. Here, you can update your email address.

I’m experiencing problems viewing or using functions on the website.

If you are experiencing errors or bugs, we suggest updating your browser to the latest version of Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer or Chrome for a quick and easy fix.
