Lawrence Kramer is a musicologist, prizewinning composer, and distinguished professor of English and music at Fordham University in New York City. He is the author of 15 books, including Why Classical Music Still Matters (2007), The Hum of the World: A Philosophy of Listening (2018) and Music and the Forms of Life (2022).
