Professor of Psychiatry and Honorary Consultant Psychiatrist, University of Edinburgh/NHS Lothian

Stephen Lawrie is professor of psychiatry at the University of Edinburgh and honorary consultant psychiatrist for NHS Lothian, specialising in general adult psychiatry in an outpatient setting. Like most psychiatrists, he received under- and postgraduate training in both drug and talking therapies. In 35 years of clinical practice, he has treated thousands of patients with major psychiatric illnesses including mild, moderate and severe depression. He is the co-author, with Erica Crompton, of The Beginners Guide to Sanity (2020).
